Medjy

Born in Canada and raised in the vibrant streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Medjy blends the warmth of Haitian rhythms—konpa and rara—with the grooves of R&B and Afro-pop, forging a sound that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in Caribbean tradition. After releasing his first solo album Alèz (2012), he co-founded the konpa band Enposib, for which he primarily produced and composed the albums Chay (2016) and Kamasootra (2020). Medjy eventually stepped away from the collective pulse to release his second solo album 48 Rebecca (2023), which earned widespread acclaim both in Haiti and internationally. With sold-out live performances across North America, Central America, and Europe—and a rapidly growing streaming audience—his music captivates while offering food for thought, exploring tensions between love, identity, forced exile, and resilience.
