And this is Steves J. Bryan

Yo Steady
Lajan e likid paper li ye
Lap efase moun Lap efase problem

Yap chache m
Mwen mpa wè n
Gad jan n blèm nou pa vo la peine
Mwè’n pa tèm
M konnen w pè m
E si w pa ka pale klè
Ben pito w acht’on antèn
On antèn

Tout moun konnen m son chanpyon
Lè m lage l pa ka pa bon
Pa chache monte mal sou lion
Yo Highmind son relijyon
1+7 la pou tout tan
N tape yo san pèdi tan
Nap met prinsip nap fe lajan
Yo Highmind son relijyon

M ap pete filè rele m Pele
M chaje vizyon rele m Tele
Tankou priz ki makonnen
Yo map fè spak e neg yo mele
Chak sa m lage fè fanm ou gouye
M tande w fache mwen m fèl mouye
M gentan plonje s on pisin
Manzè nasty li bwè larim (manze naaasstyyy)
Tankou toupi m ap bien vire
M chanje katye kou lalin
Steves J aka premiere page
Sa vle di m ap fè la une

Incroyable mais vrai
Nou konnen m inbatab c’est vrai
Yo rele m Kris m ap geri plè
Music en danje m pot lapè

Manmanm nèk tande mizik sa
An verite l rele anmwey
Madam Martine tande mizik sa
Li leve l tonbe fon gouye
Men Shukika tande mizik sa
Epi l fe dada l tranble
Pa gon dj k pa jwe mizik sa
Pou moun pa rele anmwey

M tro cho manyen m ak gan
Chak sa m lage lou ke plon
Rayi lion an di dan l blan
Patrice monte volume nan

Yo jwe mizik sa nan on pomp gazoline
Saw tande l pran dife
Mande ponpis la sak pase
Li di 1+7 li ye

M rantre nan jwèt la
E mwen k an tèt la
M touye nou frèt la
Yo rele m bèt la
M lage pou pèp la
M boule tout fèt la
M kraze tout tèt la
Yo rele m mèt la
Mennen ankèt la
Highmind se sèk la
Nou pa nan fènwa
Na limyè granmèt la
M domine nèt la
Nou okipe syèk la
Non pa gen trèt la
Gen cho gen frèt la
Ret la Hey

Kole w pran pa kole w pran
MC yo yo pran nan zip zip
Flo m malad m paka geri
Doktè a di m sick sick
Lit lit
Tou limen tankou brikè
Nan tout zorèy tankou rimè
M ap met dife vin ak chofyè
M pral kwit kwit

Menm siw ta fon pic a on so
Ou pap janm ka Picasso
E si m ta sou menm beat
M lag’on flo
Pa kite m vin aprè ni avan w
Wa panse yo fe alzheimer
Pou jan yo bliye w
Pa bliye m s’on sniper
San w pa wè sa
Mwen m vize w

Ou met rele m asfalt
Mwen kouvri tout lari
M reyisi kou “les maths”
M gentan pase tout kalkil

Fè sa w vle mwen m inbatab
Yo konnen m enkonparab
Fanatik yo fèk banm grad
Mwen pou kò m m ka ranpli on stad

Nèg yo tèlman renmen m yo rayi m

Highmind baby

    Five Diaspora Winter Anthems

A few weeks ago, all 50 states reached freezing temperatures. The Polar vortex may be gone, but most of us still can't feel our toes. Quite a few Haitian artists have migrated to the States, Canada, and Europe. They've all experienced the winter blues and expressed their lingering homesickness in song. 4Mula's Chapter 1

Jude and Carl Edouard (Carlitow) Deslouches have been on our radar since they dropped Se Ou Mwen Vle and the subsequent EP. Once in a while, the brothers would tease us with a new track. Late last year, they introduced 4Mula, a new band with fellow Montrealites and former Vibrasyon members, Romuald Paul and Benjamin Guirand. Their debut, "Chapter 1", is a groovy ride anchored by the Deslouches' warm vocals. It's the kind of album that will jump start any party and keep it rocking all night long. All you need is an aux cord. We...
